Good to know
Pages are copied exactly as they are, so text stays selectable and links, fonts and image quality are unchanged. Bookmarks and form fields from the source files are not carried over.
Need only part of a file? Run it through Extract pages first, then merge the result.
Questions
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. PDF1 runs the whole job inside your browser tab with JavaScript and WebAssembly. The page has no upload endpoint, and its security policy blocks connections to other servers, so the file stays on your device. You can even disconnect from the internet once the page has loaded.
Is there a limit on the number of files?
There is no fixed limit. The practical limit is your device’s memory: dozens of ordinary documents are fine, while several hundred megabytes of scans may be slow on a phone.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
Remove the password first with Unlock PDF, then merge the unlocked copy.
Will the merged file be larger than the originals?
It is usually about the size of the originals added together. If you need it smaller, run it through Compress PDF afterwards.
