    Good to know

The watermark is drawn on top of each page as semi-transparent text. It deters casual copying, but anyone with a PDF editor can remove it, so don’t rely on it for security.

    Questions

    Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. PDF1 runs the whole job inside your browser tab with JavaScript and WebAssembly. The page has no upload endpoint, and its security policy blocks connections to other servers, so the file stays on your device. You can even disconnect from the internet once the page has loaded.

Can I watermark only some pages?

Yes. Type a page list such as “1-3, 8” instead of choosing all pages.

    Which characters are supported?

The built-in font covers Western European letters. For other scripts, make the watermark as an image and use Sign PDF to place it.
