Good to know
Ranges use the usual print-dialog style: “1-3, 4-8, 9” makes three files. Each part keeps the original page quality and selectable text.
To pull out a single set of pages as one file, Extract pages is quicker.
Questions
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. PDF1 runs the whole job inside your browser tab with JavaScript and WebAssembly. The page has no upload endpoint, and its security policy blocks connections to other servers, so the file stays on your device. You can even disconnect from the internet once the page has loaded.
How do I write page ranges?
Separate ranges with commas. “1-5” is pages 1 to 5, “7” is page 7 alone, and “10-” means page 10 to the end.
Why do I get a ZIP file?
When a split makes more than one PDF, they are bundled into one ZIP so your browser downloads a single file. Every operating system can open ZIP files.
Does splitting reduce quality?
No. Pages are copied, not re-rendered, so nothing is recompressed.
